Welcome to ULO!

ULO Australia is shaking up traditional homewares with a celebration of African textiles and bold contemporary prints to bring colour and vibrancy into your home.

‘ULO’ means ‘Home’ in the native language of the Igbo people in Nigeria, West Africa. Inspired by my proud Nigerian heritage, we design and produce homewares and lifestyle products inspired by the African prints that I have grown up with since living in Nigeria as a child.

Our Eureka!

Nigerians love to entertain and welcome people into our homes. I learned from a young age, as a spectator at my parent’s dinner parties, that creating the ultimate dining experience starts with laying the table.

It was while preparing to host a party of my own that I noted a distinct lack of colour and vibrancy in table linen available in the retail market. And so I set out to create my own, which ultimately became ULO Australia’s first collection of unique placemats and napkins.

We have since expanded our collections and our focus is on creating lifestyle products which stand the test of time and encourage Homes to escape minimalism in favour of a pattern clash.

We carefully hand-source all of our fabrics and limited edition prints directly from wholesale vendors in Africa. Each collection is designed and produced by our team in our studio in Melbourne.

At ULO, we choose originality over uniformity. We encourage our customers to mix designs and embrace the striking chaos of clashed prints.

Our collections are named after family and friends, adding unique character to every design and textile choice. We hope you enjoy getting to know them!
